Did you pass Module Two but were expecting a merit or distinction grade?

The grade you received for Module Two is decided based on the evidence provided by the External Examiner’s report on LSA4, and your centre’s report (the Delta 5C) on your performance on the course. If the External Examiner points to a specific weakness, the Cambridge Moderators will look at the 5c to see whether this has been a problem before. If the centre has flagged a particular criterion as problematic, the Moderators will look to see if it had improved by LSA4 or remained weak.

Therefore, if you passed Module Two but your centre reports (the three Delta 5As for the internal LSAs, the Delta 5B for the PDA, and the Delta 5C) suggested you were a merit or distinction candidate, you may want to query the result. The procedure is outlined in the Cambridge Delta Module Two manual and is as follows:

The following services/stages are available for candidates receiving a Passing grade:

• Stage 1: Full clerical check of all papers

• Stage 2: Re-mark/Re-moderation of external assignment/whole portfolio. Please note that the re-marking service does not apply to the practical element of the assessed lesson, but the documents (Background essay and assessor’s comments) provided to Cambridge English will be reviewed.

All candidates wishing to request a re-mark must have completed Stage 1 (…clerical check) before requesting a re-mark (Stage 2). Where an enquiry leads to a change of grade, any results enquiry fee paid will be reimbursed.

Requests must be made through your centre. Cambridge will not accept requests from individual candidates – so get on to your tutors immediately. If you don’t know what grade they recommended in the 5C, find out. If you are sure they recommended a merit or distinction grade and feel that LSA4 went well (ask your tutors if they'll have a look at the BE and LP first and give you their opinions), you can then decide whether or not to proceed with a results query.
